Floral Pavilion

The Floral Pavilion, New Brighton, has launched a new service aimed at people organising concerts, events and festivals in Wirral. They will now sell tickets for any event taking place in or around Wirral either in person, over the counter and on the phone, or online through the new website www.ticketswirral.com.

Alistair Armit, Communications Manager at the Floral Pavilion, explained that “this new venture has come about in response to public requests for a sales capability for arts throughout Wirral; the Floral Pavilion will manage and run this ticket agent set up to sell tickets for events, festivals on a small or large scale”.

This will be free service to allow clients the chance to sell their events through the Floral Pavilion’s box office, event organisers will receive the full face value of their tickets as customers will be charged a small booking fee to cover the administration costs.

Tickets Wirral has now opened and has already been approached by The Netherlands State Circus, Thornton Manor, Hillbark Players, Wirral Symphony Orchestra and numerous smaller festivals asking for this service. The Floral are hoping to develop the website (www.ticketswirral.com) into a place people visit when they are looking for something to do in the area.

Event organisers are advised to visit the website for more information on selling their tickets through this service and the public should keep their eye on the site for information on things happening in the area and the chance to buy tickets in advance.

Establishing Tickets Wirral

The current Pacific Road Arts Centre website will be used as the new Tickets Wirral website. In order to make the change over the following one of costs will be made:

Remove the” Become a Member” and “Downloads” button from the website and insert a button linking the Guitar Festival Website underneath the link to the Floral Pavilion website

£130.00

Change the mapping from Patron Edge so that it no longer sends show with Venue “Pacific Road” to this site but sends shows with Show Type “Tickets Wirral” (in the same way the Guitar Festival website works with show type “Guitar Festival”)

£390.00

Functionality testing

£130.00

Assign the website to the domain name www.ticketswirral.com including test server deployment and production deployment

£260.00

Redirect traffic from www.ticketswirral.co.uk to www.ticketswirral.com

£0.00

Technical Project Management (ICE)

£184.00

Total set up costs

£1,119.96

Since the Floral has opened we have been offering this service on an ah hoc basis through the Floral’s website, this however has been causing confusion as people often think the events are being held at the venue rather off site.

Since 2008 we have sold 7,373 tickets in this way, with a gross value of £77,175.15 under the new system we would have generated £7,373 of gross income through booking fees (subject to VAT and credit card commissions).

In 2011 / 2012 we sold 2,581 tickets to non Floral events, if we launched this new service in 2012 this level of sales would quickly increase and we would be offering a valuable community service.
