looking through the photos of the Victoria Hotel I vannot see why on earth you have extensivley documented the demolition of the property instead a providing photos of the wonderful building in better days. This must be the most depressing web site on Merseydide. For god sake remove them as they of no use whatsoever

What is happening with the Neptune project? My husband and I are both 24, with good careers in Marketing and Advertising and have only stayed in New Brighton because we were under the impression that there was going to be some vibrancy in the area soon from this project. We are, however, thinking about moving from here in the near future as there is nothing to do.... no nice bars, restaurants etc. New Brighton needs to inject some life into the area and attract more young professionals by giving them something to move here for, or the only people who will come here are scallies looking for a cheap drink in RJ's.

I found your site whilst looking for Vale Park, fascinating. Are there still shows on at Vale Park? I`d love to visit again with our grandchildren (weather permitting!). I may become a "Friend".
Regards.

Have fun all, keep well and happy.

I was in Brighton in the 1950s (building the new road). I met my wife there and we left for Australia in 1964 with 4 children. I will never visit the town again due to my age and health but have fond memories of the horse racing track (were i met my wife) and the lovely hill top walk to the ancient castle. My son lives in Heswall and tells me they are demolishing the fort to build a new shopping mall but to be honest about it, progress is never very far away. Good luck to the town and may it prosper.

I was looking for a picture of the ship inn new brighton as I saw a picture of a similar pub in the daily mirror 14/3/08. I was suprised to see pictures of the Twenty Row instead. My Auntie Hilda kept that pub for many years in the 60's so it brings back happy memories!!!!!
