Works are shortly due to commence to tidy up the site compound area at the bottom of Maddock Road. Activities will be restricted to this area and will involve the dismantling of the compound boundary fence, removal of offices, landscaping of the compound area and surfacing the final section of the promenade at the bottom of Maddock Road. Pre-cast concrete units will also be installed at the landward edge of the promenade in this area.

The work is scheduled to take approximately two months once commenced.

Upon completion, resurfacing works will be carried out to the footpath and road along the length of Maddock Road, which will then be reopened.

The completed works along the river wall withstood well the recent very high tides and waves which arrived around the coastline of Wirral. No major damage was recorded along the Mersey river wall frontage, which was somewhat sheltered from the prevailing south westerly winds. Minor damage was recorded at one or two other locations, but overall the Borough's coastal defences performed well against the tide and waves.
